Do I need to come in to make a purchase?
No. You can order online and have firearms shipped to any licensed FFL dealer near you. If you're in the Kansas City area, you can use us as your FFL for a $40 transfer fee ($30 for military/law enforcement).
What is an FFL and why does it matter?
FFL stands for Federal Firearms License. By law, all firearm transfers must go through a licensed dealer. When you buy a gun online, it gets shipped to a local FFL dealer who completes the background check and hands it to you. Gun Gear Warehouse is a licensed FFL.
How long does shipping take?
Most in-stock orders ship within 24–48 business hours of receiving all required documentation (including your FFL dealer's license copy). You'll receive a tracking number by email.
Can I return a firearm?
All firearm and ammunition sales are final. Inspect the firearm thoroughly at your FFL dealer before completing the transfer — once transferred, it is considered used. For full details, see our Return Policy.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover). Tap to pay (Apple Pay, Google Pay, and contactless cards) is available in-store.
Can I order a gun that's not in your inventory?
Yes. We special order firearms and parts through our distributor network. Parts orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit; firearm orders require full payment upfront. See our Special Orders page for full details.
Do you offer layaway?
Yes. We offer no-fee layaway with a 30% deposit. Items under $1,000 have a 30-day payoff window; items $1,000+ have 60 days. See our Special Orders & Layaway page for details.
Do you buy or trade used guns?
Yes. We purchase and trade used firearms for cash or check — or you can trade toward anything in our inventory. Email us photos and details to get started. See our Sell / Trade page.
How do FFL transfers work?
Purchase a firearm from any online retailer, then have it shipped to us. We receive it, contact you when it's in, you come to the shop and complete the background check, pay the $40 transfer fee, and take it home. Full details on our Transfers page.
I'm in California — can I order from you?
Yes, but you must verify that the exact make, model, and color you want appears on California's Handgun Roster before ordering. Non-roster handguns cannot be transferred in California.
Can I have a firearm shipped directly to me?
No. Federal law requires all firearm transfers to go through a licensed FFL dealer. There are very limited exceptions for direct transfers between certain family members in some states, but generally all purchases require an FFL.
What are your store hours?
Tuesday through Friday: 10am–6pm CST. Saturday: 10am–5pm CST. Closed Sunday and Monday.
